Compatible Astrology

80Image - 7 of cups by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law
Hi Everyone, do you have compatible astrology with another person? Want to know how to find out?

I wrote an article on synastry astrology for Dell Horoscope Magazine, Vol. 70N0. 2 February 2004. Thirteen years later, I thought it would be fun to update and offer to you all. CLICK for the original online version.

What is compatible Astrology?

Something is compatible when it is capable of living or performing in harmonious, agreeable or congenial combination with another. -American Heritage Dictionary 1975

Being in a harmonious relationship can be fun, and rewarding. Positive vibes experienced through compatibility, like affection, humor, sensuality, trust and genuine interest in each other, enhance health and improve longevity, bolstering self-esteem and well-being. All good stuff.

Of course, not all relationships are destined to be compatible, nor do they need to be.

As 'Like attracts Like' would have it, they may be ‘learning experiences’, recreations of childhood patterns, compensation for suppressed issues, erotic adventures, or just wild card flirts. Compatibility in relationship isn’t always the objective. Keep that in mind as you learn to read the synastry charts between yourself and another.

The point is, the question of compatibility often arises later, after the initial whirlwind attraction has passed. As the couple faces each other, their eyes may rest on someone foreign and unfamiliar. How can we find out sooner if a relationship is potentially harmonious? Enter the synastry chart!

What is Synastry?

Synastry (syn-together/astry-stars) is the study of stars in the same place. It takes the planets of one person’s chart and compares them to another.

Think of the other person as a set of permanent transits. What will their impact be? Sound simple? Actually, it gets quite complex. With an array of tools—synastry comparisons, transits, directions and progressions, mid-point charts such as composites, progressed composites, and Davison chart analysis—the art of compatibility prediction can be daunting. So, how to make a start?

Seven Simple Steps to Synastry

After studying the natal charts separately to assess the individual approach to relationship, ie, their moon, Venus, 7th house, 7th house ruler, aspects to all and Asc-Desc dynamic, to start with - jump into these steps:

Step 1. How does the couple nurture each other emotionally? Compatibility increases with a parallel level of emotional maturity and nurturing style. If these are not in synch, it may be difficult for the couple to give and receive harmoniously. We look to the Moons to show how the couple’s emotional worlds engage.

Step 2. Do the career goals and creative energy levels harmonize? All the compatibility in the world can come crashing down if the couple is unable to develop parallel goals with commensurate enthusiasm. This is often reflected in the synastry Suns.

Step 3. Are the communication and educational backgrounds compatible? How do they talk to each other? Mercury rules all things to do with mental rapport and learning.

Step 4. What is the couple’s approach to finances, spending and saving? Do they value the same kinds of food, music, movies, art and sensual pleasures? Venus gives us a major clue to these very important issues in relationship.

Step 5. Do they have matching levels of self-esteem, self-authority, individuation and sexual energy? Mars by synastry can tell us about the balance of power.

Step 6. Are their family backgrounds and inherited beliefs similar? What gives them a sense of meaning and purpose in life? Jupiter by synastry tells us if the couple likes exploring similar horizons.

Step 7. What is the nature of the physical attraction? A healthy intimate relationship usually includes fulfilling sex and a desire for each other physically. Surprisingly, Saturn can give clues here, highlighting the shadow issues of attraction, projection and repulsion that can pop up. Complex yet vital, this is the area most subject to change throughout the duration of the relationship. Looking to Chiron, as well as the Ascendants, Mars, Venus and certain asteroids and points (Eros, Psyche, Lunar Nodes, Vertex and others), add vital information as well.

Assessing Compatible Astrology

In a complete compatibility assessment, other intra-planetary aspects are considered, as well as the houses activated, current transits and progression. This post centers on same planet synasty (Moon-Moon, Sun-Sun), focusing on sign emphasis primarily. It's a place to begin.

You might want to review the divisions of the Signs - polarity, element and modality, orientation, decan and dwad. This will help you understand how the signs relate to each other uniquely, reflecting different levels of compatibility. Just because two planets are not a ‘harmonious aspect’ doesn’t mean the couple will not have a meaningful connection. Some amount of tension adds spark and intrigue.

Astrologer/author Stephen Arroyo says, “Everyone has to feed themselves at the air, fire, earth and water levels.” A predominance of fire needs activity and exhilaration. Earth wants to ground energy in practical ways. Air needs a diet of mental stimulation and water longs for a pool of feelings to immerse in.

Angles and Midpoints in Compatible Astrology

Ascendant: Awakens, inspires, acknowledges socially. It can feel heavenly to have personal planets contact here!

Vertex: Sudden turn of affairs, epiphany, instant attraction, immediate sense that something WILL happen together.

Lunar Nodes Familiar: They can bring fascination, feeling of kinship or destiny, comfortable vs challenging as time progresses.

Fortuna: Sense of joy, ease and creative pleasure. Life gets a little brighter when someone’s personal planet falls here.

Sun/Moon MP: Activates a sense of inner balance, awakens wholeness and feelings of completion. Longing for union.

Venus/Mars MP: Stimulate sexual energy in playful, mischievous ways. Creative, artistic, active, outgoing. No hiding this one.

Eros/Psyche MP: Awakens desire to merge, sexual energy is intense, deep and emotive. Transformation whether taboo or not. Check the table below for more asteroids to consider.

Compatible Astrology Example 1

Adonis 27 Vi 44 Rx. xxxx00o0x17 Li 41

In the words of Lord Ismay , “It is probably the most ideal marriage there has ever been”.

Does the synastry agree?

Winston Churchill would have been a taxing man to live with. His tremendous focus on world affairs left him little time to nurture the emotive needs of a marriage and his bombastic nature was given to unpredictable and tempestuous display. He drank. He smoked. He had a pressured life of which his marriage was only one aspect. Yet his compatibility with Clementine is undeniable.

For Clementine, the marriage was her vocation. Intelligent and well educated, she supported and influenced her husband throughout his long public career, putting the relationship above her personal goals, ambition and children. Even brief escapades, on both sides, did not spoil the union.

Winston’s dominate FIRE emphasis suggests courageous, verbose and innovative energy. His Moon in Leo conjunct the fixed star Regulus adds a noble bearing with a drive for fulfillment in the limelight. Although Mars is in its detriment, the first house placement adds fuel to the fire as does the conjunction with Jupiter. The Virgo Ascendant brings discernment; the chart ruler in Scorpio suggested shrewdness.

Friends said his marriage to Clementine wouldn’t last six months. Winston just wasn’t the marrying kind. Contrarily, it lasted 56 years, filling boxes and drawers with intimate love letters, notes and messages that passed unceasing between.

Without an accurate birth time for Clementine, her chart has been drawn flat with zero degrees of Aries on the Ascendant. Clementine also had a dominant FIRE nature with Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars all in Aries. That is a lot of gusto, especially for a woman born in the 1800’s. A natural way to live out such energy is though a powerful man and she found herself one of the most potent in the world!

Follow the Seven Steps

Step 1. How does the couple nurture each other emotionally? Winston’s Moon is found at 29 degrees of Leo is in the Aries decan and the Cancer Dwad. This adds might, courage and individualism to the dignified and gregarious Leo Moon, along with a dose of sympathy and kindness. He would need energy, camaraderie and a sense of being special to feel nurtured. Clementine’s Moon, in late Libra or early Scorpio, is a social orientation, commensurate with Winston’s. She would need relationship to feel nurtured and emotionally connected. It is likely that the Moons are sextile, creating a channel to awaken both the inner world and the desire to nurture each other.

Step 2. Do the career goals and creative energy levels harmonize? The Sun signs trine by element indicate a commensurate high energy level and mutual need to feed each other with doses of enthusiasm, audacity and exploration. With his Sun in the first decan of Sagittarius, there is the added Jupiter influence of talk, trek and talk some more. The Aquarius Dwad brings a larger social perspective and tenacity. Clementine’s Sun is in the second Decan of Aries and Leo Dwad, adding solar staying power to the sometimes erratic flights of the Ram. The couple matched in vitality and vision.

Step 3. Is the level of education and approach to communication compatible? Both were well educated people, though Clementine did better academically than Winston. A passionate writer and speaker, his words moved the masses! The second decan of Scorpio adds Neptune’s sensitivity to the collective where the fixed Taurus Dwad made him a formative man to argue with.

Clementine’s 3rd decan of Aries Mercury has Jupiter’s philosophic bend, and the Pisces Dwad links to the collective as well. With both Mercury’s ruled by Mars, neither bulked at an intellectual debate! Their Mercury’s aspect by the minor 160 degree quadrinovile, (a division of 9 associated with what is produced in the long run, and possibly an indication of sexual attraction and marriage . Winston and Clementine’s letters testify to a copious flow of thoughts between them.

Step 4. What is the couple’s approach to finances? Both Clementine’s and Winston’s Venus fall in Fire signs and are linked by the lesser used biseptile aspect,102:51 degrees associated with poetic, creative and inspirational qualities. Clementine came from an upper-class home afflicted with poverty where as Winston’s was one of flamboyance and splendor. After 11 years of marriage she wrote to him, "You took me from the straitened little by-path I was treading and took me with you into the life and colour and jostle of the high-way....” That ‘life and color and jostle’ would be well appreciated by a Venus in either Sagittarius or Aries!

Step 5. What is the balance of power in the relationship? Clementine has the more powerful Mars by sign and she influenced Winston throughout the decades of their union. An article in the Washington Times state, “For decades his wife fought at his side, entertained at his table, offered her judgment to him and his colleagues and his enemies. She took his place in his absence, and sometimes in his presence. She became an international figure. She had power, and she used it. Always she had a mind of her own.” In an era where male and female roles where dictated by tradition, Clementine wielded her Aries Mars (Aries Decan and Dwad!) from behind the scenes. Winston wielded his first house Mars conjunct Jupiter in front of the entire world.

Step 6. Are their family backgrounds and inherited beliefs similar? Both Winston and Clementine came from upper-class family backgrounds and moved in high society. Their social circles linked, as their sextile Jupiter’s suggest. Her Jupiter in Leo indicates dignity and a drive for social power.

The Aries decan adds (more) strength and courage and the Gemini Dwad suggest wit, charm and urge to communicate. Winston’s Jupiter in Libra shows culture and idealism. The Gemini decan adds versatility and, again, the urge to communicate. The Cancer Dwad brings intuitive sensitivity and gut instinct to an intellectual approach. They both loved to travel, explore and adventure, together and independently.

Step 7: What is the nature of the physical attraction? The Saturn’s here are trine, a contact generally better favored than the harsher aspects . Still they would have awakened each other’s more vulnerable side, making it difficult to discuss intimate fears and insecurities. (Clementine would sometime write to Winston in French, saying it was easier to be passionate that way). Clementine’s Venus/1221Amor conjunct Winston’s Vertex/Descendant/1221Amor may have felt to him like an epiphany, a turning point of great import. Her Uranus conjunct his Ascendant served to jolt the man who was not the marrying kind.

The complexities of his Venus and Psyche/Eros midpoint opposite her Saturn and his Sun opposite her Chiron could account for her initial “cold feet”. Clearly, her Sappho conjunct his Venus and her Venus/Mars and VE/MA midpoint on his Descendent, tantalized the couple throughout their long relationship. Winston’s Juno conjunct her Psyche/Eros midpoint stimulated sustaining love. In Winston’s words, he married in 1908 and lived happily ever after .

The Lunar Node axis in both charts are activated by the synastry with Clementine’s Mercury conjunct his N. Node and Winston’s Ascendant conjunct her N. Node. Both are opposite by sign suggesting complementary support in their ability to make strides forwards as well as nurture each other in times of retreat.

Did the attraction last? In 1962, after 54 years of marriage, Winston writes, “…I have found it quite lonely (with you absent) & will rejoice to see us joined together (tomorrow) in gaiety and love. I place myself at your disposal…” That would be a YES.

Compatible Astrology Example 2

Chart 1
Harold (left) and Ruth

Asteroid Positions

Harold xxxxxxxxdxxddxxxRuth
Eros 5 Ar 34 xxxxxxxddox13 Cp 52
Psyche 10 Sc 33xxxddxxx26 Aq 41
Amor 21 Cn 11xx xxxddxx11 Pi 30
Cupido 27 Le 20 xxxddpx 4 Cp 51
Anteros 23 Ta 16x xddxxp08 Aq 25
Aphrodite 14 Le 26xxdd0026 Sc 38
Pan 3 Ge 41 xxxxxxxxdddx17 Aq 19
Adonis 06 Sc 30 xxxxddxo08 Sc 31

This brief example contrasts the Churchill relationship. Ruth is a feisty woman with a straight-forward audacity and brash style. She can be at once pragmatic and mystical, blunt and humorous. Always, she is possessive and suspicious in her relationships, especially with Harold.

Harold is a genius, given to mood swings, absent mindedness, intuitive insights and occasional mumbling. Appearing boyishly whimsical, he doesn’t miss a thing. Unpredictable and self-absorbed, yet sensitive and brilliant, he also has a possessive streak when it comes to his marriage. What do the seven simple steps reveal?

Step 1. How does the couple nurture each other emotionally? Ruth’s Moon in Sagittarius pulls no punches. She has an intuition that won’t quit and an instant response to everything she perceives. Her emotional needs are dramatic. Harold’s Moon is in the same polarity and collective orientation, yet the Aquarian decan and Dwad gives him a cool detachment. He needs isolation to produce original thought; she needs freedom and adventure. He saturates himself in work to escape her critique; she travels overseas to escape him.

Step 2. Do the career goals and creative energy levels harmonize? The Suns are quincunx, the150 degree aspect noted for strain and challenge. Ruth’s goals are ambitions and fiscal. Harold, though not opposed to increasing the comfort zone, has more creative endeavors in mind. As his business manager, Ruth pushes and goads him to fit her designs. He resists in ways that undermine all her grand plans. Ruth’s Sun in Capricorn is concrete, striving, and relentless. Harold’s Sun in Leo seeks an individual glory for his accomplishments, focusing on distinct and exceptional originality. The disparity grates on each other, and all those within shouting distance.

Step 3. Is the level of education and approach to communication compatible? Both gifted thinkers, Harold has had more years of education though what Ruth lacks in academia, she makes up for in wit. Her Mercury is part of a stellium in Sagittarius, expanding the mind and bringing into scope the larger picture. Harold’s Mercury in Virgo is precise, analytical and focused on fine details. His thoughts tend to be logical, though sometimes they are swayed by Neptune’s perchance for fantasy. He weaves little deceptions to escape her wrath; she catches him in the act, every time. Their Mercury’s form no aspect with each other.

Step 4. What is the couple’s approach to money? Harold is frugal when it comes to finances. He counts every penny and questions every expense. Venus in Cancer can be an astute accountant. Ruth, by contrast, is secretive about the finances. She hides transaction she feels he would veto. Although the Venus’s are trine by sign, they form the 135 degree sesquiquadrate aspect, known for instability and disruption.

Step 5. What is the balance of power and sexual energy of the relationship? The Mars aspect forms another stressful sesquiquadrate. Ruth has the upper hand with mars at home in fire, conjunct the expansive Jupiter (Aries decan and Cancer Dwad). The cardinal nature along with the brusque Sagittarius creates a force to be reckoned with. Harold’s Mars is in detriment in Taurus, (Taurus decan/Cancer Dwad). He is constantly attempting to placate Ruth’s theatrical tantrums, though he can throw ones of his own. Apparently the sex, when they can stand each other, is fantastic. (Note her Pan on his Asc.)

Step 6. Are their family backgrounds and inherited beliefs similar? Yes! Here we find, at last, a wide sextile between Ruth’s strong Jupiter in Sagittarius and Harold’s in Libra. They have both left their inherited Judeo-Christian backgrounds to find a shared belief in Buddhism. When they find time to chant together, much discord is lifted, momentarily.

Step 7. What is the nature of the physical attraction? A mix of attraction and repulsion is undeniable between these two. Here the Saturn’s are only in aspect by parallel declination, not by sign or degree. That they trigger each other’s shadow issues is undeniable. A fated feeling comes with Harold’s Moon conjunct Ruth’s Ascendant and Psyche/Eros midpoint and his Sun/Uranus on her Descendent. Her Sun also activates his Psy/Eros midpoint! His Saturn is on her anti-vertex, her Sun/Moon midpoint is on his anti-vertex, all potent, dynamic sparks. That his Anteros (love returned or avenged) is opposite her Venus in fixed signs is significant, as is the conjunction of their asteroids Adonis (sexual magnetism). They certainly have chemistry; they also have little functional compatibility. This demonstrates a couple together for reasons other than compatibility!

Saturn Trine Uranus - Stability meets excitement...

GVA Members access the recording here.

The Astro Clock I was raving about on the call is HERE.

The transit of Saturn trine Uranus is exact for the last time in this cycle on November 11th, bring to a conclusion the phase of energy that began December 2016. Here are the dates and degrees. Times are EDT.

Screen Shot 2017-10-23 at 1.27.43 pm

This transit last occurred in 2003 with Saturn in Cancer and Uranus in Pisces. The next trine will be in 2047 with Saturn in Capricorn and Uranus in Virgo.

What to Expect with Saturn trine Uranus

Saturn is the ground we stand on, the containment, and our defense (immunity, strength, endurance). Express it fully and we tap into ancient wisdom, power and ambition to be all that we can. He rules the tried and true. Where Saturn is in the chart, we have the opportunity to be more than. A chance to find an authentic sense of worthiness and accomplishment.

Uranus is the rebel, the great awakener, the urge for change, freedom, excitement and autonomy. It's trickster energy that creates growth through chaos and surprise. He rules the unknown, the edge of extreme where we do things for ourselves alone. Where Uranus is in the chart we long to tip the apple cart, pull the rug out from under our feet and experience genius breakthrough.

The two in the 120 degree trine aspect brings solid knowing and the fresh winds of change. Suddenly energy is available to create what we want, blast through set points or perceived obstacles, try new things that can be incorporated into a solid and sturdy structure.

WHERE this lands in your chart by house, where you have 25 Sagittarius and 25 Aries, indicates the area of life most likely to be receptive to the blast of creative evolution.

Review

Call #1 we looked at Saturn and manifesting asking,"Where am I at with ‘reality’." It's a check in to where we perceive our limitations to be and ways to leverage Saturn in the chart, natal and transit, to boost manifesting skills.

Call #2 dive sinto the sea of Neptunian bliss, releasing resistance and experiencing effortless creation. To do that, we engage the though experiment based on the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. The steps are very simple:

  1. Choose a ‘reality’ that you focus on.
  2. When you think of this ‘reality’ don’t DO anything about it. Just notice it.
  3. Be aware of how many times a day you are noticing by jotting it down

That’s it. More details on the Call #2 Post.

Call #3 we look at Uranus, exploring a healthy relationship to change. It all starts by putting awareness on your natural comfort levels with this topic. What happens when things start to shift?

Call #4

This call is about Pluto and transformation. We are going to use the chart as a focus wheel  of transiting Pluto. This will support our greatest expansion and transformation via the LOA technique of focusing.

Download a blank wheel from the gallery.

  1. click on link
  2. right click
  3. save image as ...

We'll be using the blank wheel for call #4 first by simply plotting in where  transiting Pluto is, by house.

See you on the call, or back here afterwards for all the details.

You can review Pluto in the Transform with Transits Call on the topic. If you are new to astrology, check out the Essentials course Planets Part Two, and the Astrology for Deliberate Creators Call # 5.

Creating and Uploading your Focus Wheel for Call #4

Here are the steps for those who want to create a Pluto Focus Wheel.

  1. Download the BLANK WHEEL and print (for hand drawn) or open in your image editing software for digital drawing

Dream Come True Astrology Call #3

_i_go_in_search_of_your_dreams_i__by_emma_butler__52e885c39b

Thanks everyone for being on Dream Come True Astrology Call 3.

Listen Calls 1 - 3 on our Talkshoe Page.

Chat Nodes with Links to charts.

The Thought Experiment

To recap, we talked about the thought experiment (based on the uncertainty principle) introduced in Call #2.   There were some great questions and examples. Go to the Talkshoe page to listen to call #2, if you want a refresher, and here is the link (Victoria!) of the process as described by Dr. David Hawkens.

We'd love to hear how you go with this, so post about it here, or on the Call #2 conversations. We'll talk about it live again on call #4.

Our Relationship to Change

On call 3, we talked about how it's not super helpful to manifest our dreams come true only to hit the breaks because we're uneasy with change. This portion of the course asks that we put awareness on our relationship to change and how it helps or hinders the deliberate creation process. The check-ins are simple. What modality is on your angles (Cardinal, Fixed or Mutable)? Your Moon? Look at the entire chart to get a feeling for your comfort zone with change. Example - Taurus as fixed earth is probably the most resistant to change, even change for the better. The opposite sign, Scorpio, is fixed as well and will hold on and hold on until change not only happens, it takes out whole city blocks in the process.

What is Uranian Energy?

Uranus, of course, is the symbol of radical change. For more details on this planet, listen to Module #8 of Transform with Transits – Transiting Uranus.

You'll also find basic info on natal Uranus in the Essentials course, Chart Reading like a Pro, Astrology for Deliberate Creators, and Revealing your Rock Star Entrepreneur. Check the Courses Tab to listen to any of these.

To review, Uranus feels disruptive because he breaks apart old patterns. He frees us from ruts and tolerations. Yes, it comes like a blast of unpredictable, radical, sudden energy and tips over our apple cart. Pulls the rug out from under us. This is the archetypal activation of change.

When you better understand how you related to change, especially Uranian, which feels 'out of our control', it will be easier to pre-pave new events in positive, creative ways. It may still be extreme. It may still pick up us and drop us far from where we started, but it's along our path, supporting our evolution.

Homework for Call 3

As an essential part of the manifesting process, let's not neglect to include a healthy relationship to change. It all starts by putting awareness on your natural comfort levels with this topic.

Wanting change is never a given!

Check out your chart and look objectively at how you feel when energy starts to shift. If you are new to astrology, or just want feedback, post in the comments. We'll check it out with you! And, let's continue with our thought experiment and see where it leads by the next full moon.

Happy manifesting, and discovery!

xxKim

Call #2 - Dream Come True Astrology

Crispin Korschen Call #2

Hi Everyone,  Welcome to Dream Come True Astrology call #2 - Effortless Manifesting

In Call #1, we talked about our reality, where we see things as solid, real and sometimes daunting. Most of us are looking at the reality, 'what is' and wanting it to be different. It feels like we have to DO SOMETHING to change it - think differently, create a new perception, work it ... and those things can lead to change, lead to where you want to go. Sure. But it's not the easy way. It's not the effortless way. In Call #2 we are going to dive into the sea of Neptunian bliss, release resistance and experience effortless creation. To do that, we will call on the outer planets to support us:

  1. Awareness of our perceived limitation - Saturn
  2. Embrace change - Uranus
  3. Release resistance - Neptune
  4. Transform our experience of reality - Pluto

For those who want a scientific perceptive on Call #2

The effortless manifesting technique is based on the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle which states we cannot measure the position (x) and the momentum (p) of a particle with absolute precision. The more accurately we know one of these values, the less accurately we know the other. Watch this YouTube tutorial if you want a fuller explanation.

What does the Uncertainty Principle have to do with manifesting?

How this translates into the Law of Attraction and astrology is simple. The more you focus (fixate?) on a thing, the less probability it has of it becoming something else.

As an example, take money. If I only have x amount of money, and I measure that x amount regularly, putting my focus on and reaffirming "I only have x amount of money" the less likely I am to have any greater amount of money, no matter how much I work, what my financial plan is, how many jobs I take on, etc. The more I focus on x, the more x I experience. Focusing (ruled by Saturn) makes things 'real'.

The effortless way to have (in this case) more money, is to stop fixating on it. That means I release the thoughts associated with money (having x, wanting more, not enough etc). If I engage Neptune, and let go, so that my fixated thoughts dissipate, my experience of money shifts from the 'particle' or SOLID reality to the 'wave' or INFINITE possibilities.

Sounds simple! But ... how do we do it? That's what Call #2 is all about.

Prep for Call #2

In the spirit of effortlessness, you don't have to do a thing to prep for this call. If you want, you can post your natal chart to the Course Examples gallery and have the link handy for the call, or the conversations below.

But really, all you do is show up for Call #2, stream it online (free) or dial in to chat. If you can't make the call, no worries. It will be available to down load shortly after the talk ends.

We can carry on all conversations here.

See you there!

Now that the Call is up on Talkshoe, let's recap this effortless manifesting technique.

  1. Choose a 'reality' that you focus on. This is something that you feel isn't serving you - a relationship pattern, a $$ issue, health, creative, just choose one, large or small.
  2. When you think of this 'reality' don't DO anything about it. Just notice it.
  3. Be aware of how many times a day you are noticing.

That's it.

Questions and comments here.

If anyone would like to try the 'drill down' technique mentioned in the call, to get to the core value of their 'reality experience', here are links that lay it out.

Nobody wants to win the lottery - Thank you Jeannette!

This is our private conversation for members only. Feel free to post your prep here, thoughts and questions.

Where to Begin

You can access all the call here. Bookmark the page for the future, if you like. We'll be emailing a reminder the night before the call as well.

Prep for Call #1

First up, you'll want to post your natal chart to the Course Examples gallery.

If you are new to astrology and GVA, you can EMAIL us your birth data - Date, Time and Place of birth - and we'll post it for you and send you the link.

To get the most out of the course, we'll need to read your chart, so make sure it's up.

Prep Questions for Call #1

Where are you with 'reality'?

We'll be looking at Saturn and manifesting on the first call and you can be ready by asking yourself, where am I at with 'reality'.

Reality can mean different things, but it starts with the body. Your physical connection to the world. Are you experiencing health, well being and joy in the bod? Don't over analyze it. A simple yes or no is all that is necessary to put gentle awareness on this topic.

People often project reality onto others. How are your relationships going? Happy with them all?

Another form of reality can be $$$. Tune into your relationship with your finances to see if there are any kinks in the vibe there.

Home is often a powerful realty base. Ask if there is anything you'd like to change there.

If it's physical, it's Saturn, so take inventory of things your believe are 'real'.

Include your sense of accomplishment. Do you feel you've nailed your career? Creative life?

Again, we just have a play with the question, How am I in the 'real' world.

On the call, and in the course posts and conversations, we'll be looking at what's activated by Saturn, how it influences your manifesting moxie, and ways to leverage the energy to your best liking.

Feel free to post your ideas, questions and comments here.

See you on the call!

Karma Course Homework #3

Hi everyone, thanks so much everybody who dialed in for the call. If you missed it, or want to listen again, the recording is on the Karma Course TalkShoe page. Bookmark it or ‘follow’ the course for quick and easy access. In the call we talked about the stories we tell, and I wanted to mentioned again several articles/audios for reference.

  1. Tell a New Story - the example chart is the writer Octavia Buttler
  2. Using the Chart to prep for 2017 - one hour Audio
  3. The Tale of Two Vibrations
  4. How to Break a Bad Story

Let's all support each other by observing (not judging) when we spot a story, perhaps asking, "Is there another story here?"

Jeannette says -

"If you find yourself drawn to repeat the version you don’t like, it may just be law of attraction calling you back to it. (That’s what law of attraction does.) Resolving the situation is just a matter of consciously creating new momentum by engaging a different thought/story.

It could also be that you’re getting some benefit from telling the unwanted version, so you don’t really truly intend to leave it behind. (Like if I keep talking about how all the good guys are taken, then I never risk rejection or failure in a new relationship."

Let's explore what some of the pay offs are of STAYING in a story/pattern. Just notice what they might be, no judgment. We'll talk more about this on the next call.

Homework #3 Discussion

  1. Listen to Call #3 if you haven’t already
  2. Find a story you are telling. Observe it. Tell a different one, if you want to, one that is equally true.
  3. Consider the ideas of Karma, Dharma and Desire as discussed on the call. Can you see these elements at work in any aspect or placement in your chart?
  4. Spot your Saturn, "Lord of Karma" and describe what it is you really plan on being awesome at! Tell a story that supports that energy.

You know by now that these are not exercises in ‘looking for trouble’ because we will find whatever it is we are looking for. Instead, set the INTENTION of discovery, lightness, curiosity and choice. Are there any new insights into your habit patterns or perceptions coming up?

You put your answers here, in the comments, in part or full, or work on your own, whatever feels best.

Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks, everyone, and Happy New Moon!

Karma Course Homework #2

Crispin Korschen
Crispin Korschen

Hi everyone, thanks so much everybody who dialed in for the call. If you missed it, the recording is on the TalkShoe page. Bookmark it or 'follow' the course for quick and easy access.

If anyone wants to continue to explore their 12th house, intercepted signs and 12th house ruler(s), please post one Karma Course Homework #1.

Homework #2 Discussion

  1. Listen to Call #2 if you haven't already
  2. Find your Moon and/or Venus by sign and house
  3. Note any aspects of contrast  - square, opposition, conjunctions, semi-squares, inconjuncts etc to outer planets
  4. Think of three possible 'Karmic' meanings for the connection
  5. Contemplate on what that means to you now, in this lifetime.

This is not an exercise in 'looking for trouble' because we all know that we find whatever it is we are looking for. Instead, set the INTENTION of lightness, curiosity and discovery. What insights into your habit patterns or perceptions can you gain?

Example Homework #2

Following on with the lunar example (Kim's chart) on the call, here is one way we might see Venus in contrasting aspect, especially to Saturn or maybe Pluto. The square aspect might coincide with disappointment, at first, around relationship, or trouble finding the relationship of our dreams. The predominate thought might be "love never lasts." Or, "Relationships never work out." Or even, "Relationships are hell."

If there is difficulty like this, or with our relationship to our bodies, family, friends, it might be one of three, or more, things from a Karmic perspective.

  1. We've been too identified with relationships in the past and now we are learning to be more ourselves, more individuated. We can't really 'dissolve' our identity into another because our vibration intention is to learn who we are in our own right. The habit patter is over identification, over attachment.
  2. We found relationships very challenging in the past (lives) and have declared to the universe "I don't ever want to have a relationship again." This is an aspect of DESIRE/Goals that we haven't talked about yet, but your specific desires for a lifetime will influence what you experience. You probably won't be able to go a whole eternity without relationship, but it can be in play for a while, UNTIL YOU DECIDE TO CHANGE IT. This is all free will here. Your vibration. Your experience.
  3. We may have not been appreciative of relationships in the past. Maybe we took them for granted, overpowered the other person, was critical or judgmental, or even dismissive and now that vibration is home to roost.

NONE OF THESE ARE CARVED IN STONE. With love and awareness, you can transform any reason, any vibration, but it must begin with pulling it out of the unconscious and bringing it to light.

So, let's take a look at our charts, with the focus on Moon, body, love, emotions and Venus, body, love relationships, creativity, sexuality.

Remember to go gently with yourself, in kindness, respect and love.

It all begins there!

xxxKim

This is where we will be posting questions, adding our comments on any charts offered up for viewing and posting insights into the homework. Basically, anything related to the course can go here.

Listen to past calls here

If you share thoughts or questions about your chart, be sure to link to the horoscope so we can give it a look. It wants to be set up as per the Prep and placed in the Course Examples gallery. Thanks!

Karma Course Library & Chat Homework

I'll post the homework here shortly after each call. Your first step to do before hand is list three things you’d like to change in your life, as per the Prep for the Karma Course page. Some of us have posted our lists there already, which is great, but you don't need to share them if you'd rather not. They are for you, and your inner work. You do want to have that list for your first call homework though, so take time now to write them down, if you haven't already.

Quotes & Definitions to Ponder

Astro and LOA Perspective

“Astrology is not meant to be a primarily predictive science.  It is meant to be for understanding ourselves and others. There is nothing in a horoscope that you cannot change, if you want to. The chart contains the stories of the cycles and rhythms you are going through. It shows your character.  You can read it the day a child is born; you can tell what they have brought over as a blessing and what they have brought over as a challenge.  But that is only the personality pattern.  Behind the personality lies your real self, and you center yourself in that essential thing.

We are vibrationally connected to everything that happens to us.  There is only one way we can change our life, and that is by changing our attitude toward it; changing our consciousness.  This is a cosmic law that few people know.  By changing your attitude, one of two things has to happen.  Either the person or the problem will be completely removed without any harm to anyone, or that person or problem will change so much that you will be able to live with it very easily" --Isabel Hickey (1960s)

Eternal Return & Karma

“To endure the idea of the recurrence one needs: freedom from morality; new means against the fact of pain (pain conceived as a tool, as the father of pleasure...); the enjoyment of all kinds of uncertainty, experimentalism, as a counterweight to this extreme fatalism; abolition of the concept of necessity; abolition of the "will"; abolition of "knowledge-in-itself." – Nietzsche

"Thoughts are the seed of Karma, very powerful seed. The seed in its seed status is very potent. …the vibrations (of the Karma) go out in thought and deed and return from the wall, from the sun, from millions of miles. Vibration finds it’s match." --Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

The Continuity Principle

It's simple. You get very good at something in this lifetime and next lifetime, they say things like, “Oh, a savant! They're a natural! What a genius!" Reincarnation explains the wide variety of abilities even from those who are genetically similar or have the same upbringing. It's like nature, nurture, karma. :) Of course, if you are ingrained in a patter that you won't move beyond, that comes trough too. The horoscope shows both of these, and so much more.

Using LOA/awareness of Karma to 'Fix' Things doesn't Work

Think of karma as like-aligning-with-like so that we have the full range of human experience, every emotions, every action, every thought, every feeling.

Using law of attraction to fix something 'wrong' in our lives won’t work, and the same goes for Karma. As soon as you label an experience as ‘wrong' or' bad’ you vibrate ‘wrong/bad’ and attract more of it.

Jeannette puts it like this:

“…if your signal to the universe says something is “wrong,” like your body, or bank account, or marriage – it can only return more of that.”

Read more about this here … Law of Attraction Isn’t for Fixing

Homework For Call #1

Identify your 12th house sign and ruler and discuss the “self-sustaining vs. self-undoing " expressions.

If you have duplicated signs on the 12th and 1st, or an intercepted sign in the 12th, put your hand/chart up for discussion in the comments.

Find your ruler of the 12 (usually sign on the 12th house cusp but may be the sign behind – both. What house, sign and aspects does it have.

Where the 12th house ruler is, you may 'meet' your karma (the thoughts and feelings that you sent out into the world that are coming back to you) face on. In my example on the call, the ruler of the 12th is in the 10th. The public, limelight, or even a parent/father would be key areas of karma coming home to me. The house your 12th ruler is in is a prominent place to experience past life vibrations (karma). Here we meet the past patters, and what will sustain or undo us, depending on our  alignment with that house. It's a vibration, a perspective you can choose to expand, change, drop judgement on.

Note any planets in the 12th.

Think about what you discover above in relationship to your ‘three patterns or things you want to change/focus on.

Reread your list. Is there judgment there?

Can you approach the patters/goals/desires from a perspective of experience as opposed to something that has to be changed, augmented, diminished, fixed, healed or redeemed-transcended? Is there something at the core of the desire you want to experience?

pdf_downlaodPlanetary Dignities: This is a chart and description of the Planetary Powers or 'rulership dignitaries'. In some signs, the power of a planet (energy) is able to flow without any kinks because it is in a natural alignment with that sign. In other signs, it is more convoluted, because the energy of the planet is contrasting or resistant to the nature of the sign.

On the next call ...

We will discuss everything we discover in the Call #1 homework, look at examples and explore the next segment (the aspects of contrast).

Questions? Comments? Pop them in below, or save them for the the next call APRIL 4th @7pm Eastern. :)

Thanks for being here!

Prep for Karma Course

Prep for the Karma Course

Prep for Karma Coursebee-705412_640

Hi Everyone! Ready for the Karma Course?

I wanted to give you all a quick guide for prepping for the Astrology, Reincarnation, Karma and Law of Attraction Course. There isn't much to do, so don't worry if you can't get to it ASAP. Deep breaths. We have lifetimes! :)

The Preferred Horoscope

I would like to see everyone who is going to be participating in the course upload their 'Karma Course' chart in the gallery under Course Examples. That means, choose Course Examples under Select Album.

Screen Shot 2017-03-17 at 10.59.28 AMNo, it's not some new chart style, but for the sake of consistency, focus and expediency (Virgo full moon?), I'd like all the charts to have the same essential elements. Here's what to include over at Astro.com, or in your own astro software: Choose your birth data in My Astro, then click EXTENDED CHART SELECTION. Leave it at the default chart style.

Prep for the Karma Course Style

Then scroll down and click these additions:

South Node (Descending Node)
Mean Node
Asteroid 3811 Karma
Part of Fortune (Pars Fortunae)
Chiron (and aspects to Chiron)
Add some Fixed Stars

Screen Shot 2017-03-13 at 4.27.52 PM

For the start of this course, at least, we'll stick to just those additions. No need to put in any additional asteroids, trans Plutos etc.  Here's my chart as an example below. If you don't want your data showing, but aren't sure how to edit it out, shoot me your chart and I'll sort it for you.

astro_2gw_03_annadusa_wilder.16131.29028

Uploading your Chart

When you go to upload your chart to the gallery, please put it in the Course Examples Gallery, (chosen under Select Album) so they are all in one place and easy to find.

If you need help, sing out!

Prerequisites

If you are new to astrology and/or the Law of Attraction, please go through the Essentials Course (5 calls). It covers Astro-LOA basics and the roots of astrology, the signs, planets, houses, and aspects.

We'll be talking about the Lunar Nodes in regards to past lives, so if you have any questions about the nodes before we start, fire away.

Additional Prep for the Karma Course

One of my aims for this course is to teach you how to use the astrological chart as a map to awareness, a way to see into your past, release patterns and habits and move forward with grace, integrity and joy. To do this, we will be putting focus on what we desire, while exploring the origins of any kinks that need unraveling. For this part of the prep, I would like you to name three things you'd like to change in your life. They might be inner, like, "my feelings about my family," or outer, like, "My bank balance," or a mix of both.

This give you a chance to pre-pave what you would like to work on in this course. Once we dive in, you might change your mind about what's important to you, but let's all find where we are at, right now, in this red-hot moment. :)

You can post your three things here, or in an email to me and Jeannette, or a completely private journal. All good.

Let me know if you have any questions so far.

So excited to begin!

xxxKim
