Jupiter into Capricorn 2019 - 2020

GoatKid jupiter into Capricorn
Jupiter into Capricorn Art by Kovacs Anna Brigitta -

Hey all, ready to feel like a kid again with Jupiter into Capricorn?

After twelve months in Sagittarius, Jupiter crosses over the Zero Degree Aries Point (aka AP) and into the sign of Capricorn! The last time this happened was December 19, 2007. Here are the dates for the December ingress:

Jupiter into Capricorn
LA - Dec 2 - 10:20 am
NY - Dec 2 - 1:20 pm
LON - Dec 2 - 5:20 pm
SYD - Dec 3 - 5:20 am

What will Jupiter into Capricorn be like?

Remember, the planets represent an energy that wants to express through you. They are the actors on stage. The sign the planet is in represent HOW that energy expresses. They are the costumes the actors wear.

So think of Jupiter as an actor. He's a king, for sure, big, expansive, adventurous and spontaneous.  He makes grand gestures, brings golden opportunities and boost confidence. Sometimes to the point of self-aggrandizement.

But in this upcoming film titled Jupiter into Capricorn, he wears a subdued cloak. Think grounded, contained, thoughtful. Garb best suited for planning, scrutiny, due diligence, hard work.

Yes, it seems like a 180° contrast, but the combination could be amazing.

How Jupiter and Capricorn Combine

It might be getting serious about growth and prosperity. Turning ideas into practical results. Looking twice before you leap into the next big adventure. Committing to the things you love. Pacing success. Pursuing excellence and not giving up.

Or maybe, feeling like a kid again!

What About the Fall?

It's true. Jupiter is in its Fall in Capricorn.

Think of it like this. Not all planets are equally well disposed in each sign. They have their favorites and their challenges. Jupiter in Capricorn is an inherent challenge because it evokes contrasting expressions: expansion through containment. Spontaneity with planning. Winging it with set goals. Goofing off while working hard. The visionary pragmatist.

There is tremendous opportunity in the contrast.

Read more about the planetary dignities and divisions of the signs.

The Creative Paradox

Put simply, Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, has the vision. It is energy that reaches out to the field of infinite possibilities and experiences pure creation.

Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, seeks real, tangible results... and so the paradox is born. As long as you have your Jupiter vision, it is perfect, limitless, transcendent. Always expanding. When you turn that vision into reality, it becomes finite and ultimately flawed.

But if the vision stays in the imagination, it never manifests. Once built though, it falls short as the truth of it will never reach the level of perfection you can see in your mind's eye. What to do?

Jupiter in Capricorn is a twelve month span of time to learn how to allow for both. Vision AND manifestation.

How to Allow for Both?

Let's use the goat kid as an example. Surefooted on the cliff's edge. Bounding up the mountain with glee. Adventurous but always coming back to mom when she calls.

Bottom line, there is tremendous opportunity in this contrast if you harness (Capricorn) the horsepower (Jupiter).

Also think about expanding (Jupiter) your financial savvy (Capricorn). According the the Astro Twins,

If you’ve been manifesting consciously, (Jupiter in Capricorn will) feel like someone poured Miracle-Gro on your balance sheet. - Ophira and Tali Edut

Decans of Capricorn

Over the course of the next twelve months, Jupiter rolls through the three decans of the sign. Check the dates and note any shifts or added awareness.

0-10 degrees is Saturn/Saturn ruled. December 2, 2019 to January 15, 2020

Pure Capricorn. The healthy ambition is well developed here, along with practicality and general desire for self-sufficiency. Very capable. Can be reclusive. May work alone, but always working. Expect the biggest contrast of Jupiter into Capricorn during these months.

10-20 degrees is Saturn/Venus ruled (January 15, 2020 to March 9, 2020 and then July 25 to October 31, 2020.

Venus softens Capricorn with increased sensuality, artistic affinity and refinement. More play, which Jupiter will love. Must watch overindulgence during times Venus is stronger than Saturn (the time of Venus in Libra). More social, less introspective. It's a blessing that Jupiter in Capricorn will spend over five months in this decan. There is much less contrast with the additional ruler Venus.

20-30 degrees is Saturn/Virgo, March 9, 2020 to July 24 and then November 1, 2020 t0 December 20, 2020.

Mercury's rulership of Virgo lightens Capricorn with a swift and alert intellect, sharp wit, fresh curiosity and subtle flirtation. Just note it can be critical if unhappy or feeling trapped. Needs practical and intellectual means of expression. Open the windows and doors. Jupiter in this decan can get a hell of a lot of research/study done and come into their own as the speaker, teacher, wise owl.

Conclusions

Take a look at the Capricorn sector of your chart and track Jupiter's transit there. Note any aspects he makes, and the decans he passes through. Think of how this will be blessing it for the next twelve months.

Remember, you have the chance to feel like a kid again, in all the divers and contrasting ways possible.

Enjoy!

Enchanting Eclipses

476
Hokulea with Moon Phases by Kawika Maes Gallegos

Hi Everyone,

Happy Enchanting Eclipses updated for July 2019 ... and by enchanting, I mean life changing, awakening, releasing and actualizing. Your basic adjectives for MAGICAL.

Watch the 8 minute video here with tips on how to leverage this eclipse energy in July 2019.

Seriously, this season of the eclipse is shaping up as fabulous energy to leverage your desires. We can actually say, The force is with you.

What is an Eclipse?

Not just any old new or full moon!

An Eclipse happens when the Sun, Moon and Earth line up with the ecliptic (the apparent path the sun travels around the earth - this is the geocentric perspective). There are two kinds of eclipses:

The first occurs when the Moon stands between the Sun and Earth, cutting off the light of the Sun. This is a Solar Eclipse, and occurs only at the time of a new Moon, when the Sun and Moon form a conjunction near one of the Nodes (meaning it's on the ecliptic).

Enchanting EclipsesThe second is when the Earth stands between the Moon and the sun, putting a shadow over the moon, cutting off its light. This is a Lunar Eclipse, and occurs only at the time of a Full Moon, when the Sun and Moon are in opposition, close to the Moon's nodes.

Here is a quick tutorial about the transits of the moon. At 4 min you can see a visual demonstration of the phenomenon of an eclipse.

For a deeper astronomical understanding of the cycles of eclipses, click on the NASA images.

Back to our enchanting eclipses....

Eclipse Times

Here are the times of the upcoming eclipses. Just note with the 'timing' of eclipses they can be felt 3 days before to 3 days after OR (and this goes into backward causation) 30 days (+ or - 3 days) BEFORE or 30 days (+ or - 3 days) AFTER. We'll do an entire course on astrology and backward causation this year, if we have the requests).Screen Shot 2017-02-08 at 9.05.39 AM

Why Enchanting?

I'm calling these eclipses enchanting because of the positive, supportive and flowing aspects created on the Lunar Eclipse. You can check out Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto below. These heavy weights of the horoscope are standing by for YOUR instructions, ready and willing to serve. On the Solar Eclipse, Neptune is trine the sun and moon, near exact. You can't get more magical than that!

SolarEclipse_July_2019What to Do on the Enchanting Eclipses?

Magic.

You do your magical manifesting by putting awareness on 1) what you desire 2) see how it is already here 3) relax, let go and be grateful.

I like to start with WHERE in the chart the eclipse is happening. What house(s). You can look at your natal chart houses, and also the solar houses (see Solar Chart Solutions). They count! As an example, take a look at my natal chart in the gallery below.

The lunar eclipse has the moon on Saturn/Pluto sextile Neptune and opposite Venus, a time to release tolerations in relationships of all kinds and move forward in new and creative ways. Whatever has been holding you back, it's time to let that go.

LunarEclipse_Ju;y_2019This enchanting eclipse is inviting us to release (full moon lets go; new moon initiates) any past patterns, especially in the area of life you find the later degrees of Capricorn and Cancer.

So, let's put our thoughts in the comments, and hands up if you want to post your chart and talk about WHERE this is happening for you.

Happy Enchanting Eclipses, everyone!

Telling a New Story 2019

56ab97371a00001001ab1957
Octavia E. Butler's 1988 Journal, from Huntington Library in California.

Hi Everyone, ready to amp up 2019 with a fine tuned, Astro-tailored new story?

Is it time telling a new story and change your life? I don't mean putting a splash of energy towards a new vibe, wishful thinking, bling, you're done. This is about engaging with the idea of what you want and being that vibe, now. No doubts. Zero hesitation. As Octavia Butler writes (above) "So be it! See to it!"

She wasn't messing around, and I don't want us to either.

octavia_butlerOctavia Buttler's New Story in 1988

As an African-American female author in the white/male dominated sci-fi landscape, Octavia E. Butler achieved extraordinary success in her writing career, winning Hugo and Nebula awards and the coveted MacArthur Fellowship ie the "Genius Grant." What's really inspiring is, on top of all that, Octavia Butler scripted her success BEFORE it happened. Take a moment to read her script. It's not humble pleading. No hedging around. Her new story, which clearly she came back to edit a few time, is strong, bold, insistent even! You might say she demanded her success, and her ability to help aspiring writers. It all came true, against huge 'odds'.

So be it!

See to it!

Spot the Old Story First

The idea is simple. You have a desire and it's yet to be realized. The longer it takes, the more your old story builds, like:

"I'm not going to make it."

"All the good ones are gone."

"I'm not (good/smart/pretty/rich) enough to deserve this."

It's easy to know when an old story isn't serving you. As Jeannette Maw says, you can spot those 'bad' stories a mile away by how they feel. And, if the old story has been hanging around for a while, if it's become a solid BELIEF, your outer circumstances will make if clear. For example, if your story is "Relationships are hard work," and you are in the thick of a dramatic breakup, your relationship story could use an upgrade.

How?

As you speak, so shall it be. Tell the version you want to see unfold! - Jeannette Maw How to Break a Bad Story

The Astrology of the New Story

Like Octavia Butler's example, you can literally write the story as you want it to read, as if it's already happened. Variations on this range from mantras, affirmations, scripts, vision boards to active imagination and guided meditation. The idea is, you let go of the old story-thoughts-belief and sing in the new.

What impresses me the most about Octavia's New Story is the confidence from which she writes it. And it all came true!

Example Chart

Let's look at her horoscope and see where that energy is coming from. What made 1988 the time she chose to get 'real' about her intentions. How does this success in writing fits her chart.

octaviabutlernata

The writer in her, indeed the marginalized science fiction writer in here, might be seen as Sun/Uranus in the 12th. She's not what society expected. Mercury rising is a love/drive to communicate, and my favorite, the North Lunar Node in Gemini, in the 11th.

The Transits

Active when she wrote her new story was transiting Jupiter (expansion) on Mars (action) and Saturn/Uranus (breaking old patterns) both opposite the sun (purpose/identity).

In her solar return chart, Gemini (the written and spoken word AND commerce) rises, bringing her own 12th house to the Ascendant. Her deepest dreams meet the light of day.

"The best way to leverage this vibe support is simply to read the post, then let go. Don’t try to “make it happen” or worry if it is. Get to the vibe, then go about having your good time." - Jeannette

Mercury Rx as Trickster

Sarah Janette
“The Trickster’s function is to break taboos, create mischief, stir things up. In the end the Trickster gives people what they really want: some sort of freedom.” — Tom Robbins

As Mercury is about to cross into the retrograde zone for the first time in 2019,  you might be feeling a little edgy. Where is the Trickster going to stir up dust this time? What can you do to stay Zen and what you can from this energy shift? Is that even the goal?

Mercury Rx at 29° Pisces 39'
LA - March 5 - 9:15 am
NY - March 5 - 12:15 pm
LON - March 5 - 5:15 pm
SYD - March 5 - 4:15 am

Mercury Rx Dates for Your Calendar

Feb 19th - Mercury enters the Rx Zone at 16° Pisces
March 5th - Mercury turns Rx Zone at 29° Pisces
March 28th - Mercury turns direct at 16° Pisces
April 16th - Mercury leaves the Rx Zone at 29° Pisces

Mercury Rx Symbolism

Mercury Rx March 2019First, to understand the astronomy of a retrograde planet, check out this 5-minute tutorial on my Youtube Channel- Planetary Retrogrades.

Next, know that metaphorically, the messenger of the gods is slowing down, going back over old territory, signalling a time for you to rethink your beliefs, MO, approach, actions, desires and above all, thoughts ans feelings in the area of life where you find 16° to 29° Pisces. If you aren’t sure, ask for help in the comments with a link to your chart.

Inner focus and reflection is important at this time, but that's not all. Mercury Rx means the Trickster is afoot and anything is game.

The Mercury Rx ZONE will begin on February 19th at 16° Pisces. Mercury goes direct on March 28th and will leave the Mercury Rx zond on April 16th.

Mercury Rx Do's and Don't's

The most important approach to Mercury Rx is 'mind over matter.' If you THINK it's going to be a stressful time where your car breaks down, computer melts, contracts are lost and keys go missing, the universe may happily oblige your expectations. It you trust that all paths are good, that you are willing, able and relaxed about slowing down and tuning in, then no matter what happens, or doesn't happen out there in the world is simply be part of your joyful Feng Shui. For those that feel they need extra support at this time, her are some tips.

Avoid:

1. Buying electronics

2. Signing contracts

3. Forgoing a safety check before driving

4. Launching new projects and businesses

5. Loaning out your keys, passwords or pets

Do on the Mercury Rx

1. Rethink decisions

2. Review core values

3. Recreate the past

4. Reflect on desires

5. Reconnect with people from the past

6. Remove limiting beliefs

7. Rewind, relax, restore

Expect a Visit from the Trickster

moana-trailer1-screenMercury morphs during the retrograde cycle. Like a skinwalker, he steps out of his fleet-winged garb and dons the form of the Trickster. You can recognize this energy instantly. At its core is disruption, the intention to pull on the threads of order so it will unravel. He brings surprise, metaphor, visions and synchronicity. He, or she, presents us with a new perspective, one that might both excite and frighten us. It certainly provides the opportunity for growth.

In the mythologies of many people, the Trickster, the mythic figure who embodies the unexpected (synchronicity) and who steps godlike through the cracks and flaws in the ordered world of ordinary reality, brings luck good and bad, profits and losses, all to instill growth and change. - Combs et al

Why we Need the Trickster

The Trickster appears when we are stuck, either in a habit pattern that no longer serves us, a limiting thought about ourselves or others, an outmoded perception or a feeling of being trapped or out of touch with our vitality, our creative life force. When we get into such a state, sooner or later the Trickster comes to blow the roof off the house and cracks open the windows.

We encounter disruption - lose our car keys, wallet, job, family, friends, or unexpected news. Whatever form it takes, we are put in a position of having to make a radical change. Maybe it's only for a day, as in missing keys. Maybe it's for the rest of our lives, as in a relationship change. However it comes, it's a sudden shake-up that renews the flow of energy to our hearts so that life has meaning again.

Mercury_Rx_EphemerisTracking Mercury Rx in your Chart

By following the transit of Mercury through your chart, you can note the house(s) activated, any planets aspects and from the symbolism, meet the Trickster halfway. Here's how you do it.

  1. Check the ephemeris for Mercury Rx positions
  2. Plot Mercury around the outside wheel of your chart
  3. Note the house(s) and any aspects to planets

Here's my chart as an example

We can see the 7th and 8th houses of relationship, partners, shared resources and trust are activated. Also, a few important aspects that link to this, especially the square to Jupiter and Venus, the inconjunct to the Ascendant and trine to Uranus. Ad sextile the MC! Lots to ponder.

Galactic Center Astrology

gcradioarc_vla
The Galactic Center around which our solar system orbits. Image by F Yussef-Zadeh

With Jupiter in Sagittarius, what better time to revisit the Galactic Center (GC). I wrote about this over at the 11th House Blog in 2013, and this article summarizes that info, and adds to it, especially how the GC might relate to Astro-LOA.

What is the Galactic Center?

A massive anomaly 25,000 light years away, the GC sits at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. Our solar system orbits around this pivotal point, taking 250 million years to circle once. When I say 'point' I mean a space that compasses over 2000 light-years across. Think BIG! It's dark, shrouded, hiding in the direction of the constellation of 27° Sagittarius. Watch this quick NASA vid to get a grounding in the 'what'. And, the magnitude.

Galactic Center introduction
NASA Spitzer - The Galactic Center - Click to Play

How can something that distant have a correlation in our astrology chart? A little history helps reveal the answer.

Discovery of the Galactic Center

Firstly, the GC was discovered by western scientists in 1932 using an early radio-telescope. They were trying to understand the static in the overseas phone lines and found the GC partially responsible. More than that, they put their focus on it. In deliberate creation, we know that what we focus on expands, and this holds true for the GC.

Like the Great Attractor, interstellar dust and the plane of our galaxy hide the GC from sight. But astronomers say it coincides with the radio source called Sagittarius A. Think black hole hundreds of thousands to billions of time larger than our sun. Not surprisingly, it is the source of most of the gravitational energy in our galaxy. Recently, astronomers have measured flaring events at multiple wavelengths coming from the supermassive black hole. Read more here...

aug11mayacalendarMayan's Galactic Center

Secondly, the Mayan not only were aware of the GC but described it as the Heart of Sky, a Dark Rift. They also called it the Tree of Life. As horizon astronomers, they identified the solstices and the equinoxes, the lunar months. They also tracked the retrograde cycles of Mercury, Venus and Mars. In all of this, Mayan's placed great importance on the GC.  Without a telescope or radio waves. Unfortunately, their knowledge vanished when books and oral traditions were destroyed.

The Vedic Galactic Center

Thirdly, the ancient Vedic tradition tells us that Mula (or Moola) nakshatra is the constellation which translates as “the root.” This from Somya Devi - "As the literal center of the galaxy (when we look past Mula, we are looking into the galactic center), planetary energy here compels us to find the deepest truth within ourselves, our beliefs."  A strong resonance with 27° of Sagittarius.

Symbolism in the Galactic Center

The Galactic Center sits at 27° Sagittarius and moves forward about 1° every seventy years. Also, this is the Leo Decan and Libra Dwad. Read more about the Divisions of the Signs. But, adding the ruler of Leo, the sun (consciousness) and Libra, Venus (connection), we can say this point aligns with expansion, purpose and sharing. It merges the trans-personal drives of Sagittarius with the relationship drives of Leo and Libra.

Ultimately, think of this point as an awakening, a burst of energy that supports the creation of new thoughts and the release of limiting beliefs. If you want to leverage this energy, look to where 26-28 degrees of Sagittarius sits in your natal chart and activate that house and/or planetary placement.

GC Conjunct a Planet or Point

If you have the GA highlighted in your chart in some way, it could mean you are particularly aligned with expansion, explorations into the unknown and bringing discoveries back to share with others. A consciousness lifter!

At the least, it puts added focus in the chart. If it’s in the 3rd house, communicate, write, speak! If it’s conjunct your moon, feel all your connections to life and release old emotions. Conjunct your Mar? Get physical, active and engaged with something that holds high meaning to you. (if you aren’t sure where 27 Sag is in your chart, our Free Trial course will help you launch your study of astrology and the law of attraction.

Transits to the GA

Galaxy-center-Sgr-A-star-Milky-WayS
How to find the Galactic Center

The Ascendant hits this point once a day as it moves through all 360 degrees of the zodiac in a 24 hour period. Those born with 27° Sagittarius rising have it as their Ascendant in the natal chart.

The moon, of course, transits 27° of Sagittarius once every 28 days as it journeys through the entire zodiac, spending 2.5 days in each sign. But between 0 - 2 times a year, that will coincide with a New or full Moon, tripling the impact of the monthy transit.

This is because every year, on the 19th/20th of December and 17/18 of June, the sun conjuncts or opposes the Galactic Center. Sometimes that will coincide with a new or full moon. Note anyone born between the 18th and 21st of December and the 15th - 18th of June has their sun conjunct or opposed the GC in the natal chart.

Also once a year Mercury and Venus will conjunct the GA, within 30° and 45° of the sun. Mars will be there once every two years. The last time was March 12, 2018, and the next is February 12, 2020.

Jupiter conjuncts the GC once every 12 years and Saturn once every 29 and so on. Check the online empheris to discover when the outer planets will next conjunct this point later this century and on into the next ones.

Transits to the GA 2019

The events to watch in 2019 are transits by the Moon (when new or full), Venus, Jupiter and the Sun. Think of these as triggering, awaking what the GC means to you, by house and aspect to your natal chart. Some say it's an opportunity to 'download' new information, divinely inspired insights. Others say it opens the subconscious minds and lets us release blocks and limiting beliefs. Certainly, it's an opportunity to set intentions to do so!

Dates for 2019

ADET Time Zone

Venus conjuncts 27° Sagittarius TWICE this year. Once on February 1, 2019, and again on November 24, 2019, with Jupiter by less than a degree.

Jupiter conjuncts 27° Sagittarius on November 19, 2019

The Sun conjuncts 27° Sagittarius on December 19, 2019. The full moon conjuncts the GA June 17, 2019 as well.

Mercury conjuncts 27° Sagittarius on December 27, 2019

I see this as tune in on Feb 1 with Venus. Set sky high intentions on November 19 with Ve/Ju conjunct on the 24th, rethink it with Mercury Rx. We'll be exploring this in depth at the time in the Daily Astro-LOA Flash.

Finally, let's discuss this here or on the Member's Forum.

Dark Moon Savasana

Rafal_Olbinski_Moon - Dark Moon
Bird with the Moon by Rafal Olbinski

If you've been studying astrology for a while, or following the Daily Astro-LOA Flash, you'll know that the Dark Moon is a time to release tension and chillax. No matter what sign or what time of year, the two days before every New Moon is the time to unwind. With a restorative vibe, you can reflect on the past 27 days, and prepare for the power and energy about to shift. And it does shift.

Dark Moon in AquariusWhat Exactly is the Dark Moon?

First of all, the Dark Moon is in play for about two days prior to the New Moon, or when it is 30° degrees 'behind'. You can't see it at that time. It's too close to the sun.

Think of it as the culmination of a whole 28 day cycle. In this way, the Moon goes through the entire zodiac, waxing and waning, making every aspect to every planet and point in the chart.

At the end, in the Dark Moon Phases, the moon applies to a conjunction to the sun which marks the New Moon and the beginning of the cycle all over again.

The Power of the Lunar Cycle

Don't underestimate the power of aligning with the moon as it travels through the zodiac. Whole calendars are devoted to this but the gist is: planting seeds and setting intentions on the New and waxing moon. Releasing resistance and pulling weeds on the Full and waning moon, and restoring/resting/de-cluttering on the Dark Moon.

For more details on the transits of the Moon, check out this short Youtube Tutorial - Transits of the Moon.

New Moon in Aquarius

Your Sign, the Moon

In our time of solar/patriarchy, it might surprise you to know of the moon's elevation in the past. Many ancient astrologers regarded the Moon as the chief of the two luminaries. The sun was considered less significant to the Babylonian stargazers, for example. And later, in Roman times, people were not known by their sun signs but by their Moon, or even Ascendant sign.

Why Rest on the Dark Moon?

Dark Moons are definitely for rest. Think recuperation, meditation and quietude with a little retreat and de-cluttering thrown in. Also, it's good to fill the tanks at this time.

Joss Whedon says, "Fill the tanks!" Between projects, he recommends constantly consuming art, and he means art you don't normally watch or read - shows, films, plays, art exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings, novels... The goal is to step outside the normal, everyday routine/genres. "It’s all fodder," he says and this approach applies beautifully to Dark Moon times.

savasana_thought_bubbles_0 - Chopra Center

See Dark Moon as Savasana

I like to think of the Dark Moon as Savasana, pronounced shah-VAHS-uh-nuh. If you've taken a yoga class, you'll know it as that last pose at the end of the session. The pose of the corpse. It's easy, right? You just lay there.

But no.

It's actually not only the most important pose of the practice, it's also the most challenging because you have to relax.

Sort of like 'allowing' or floating downstream.

Here's a defination from DoYouYoga:

"...Savasana is the time to reap all the benefits of the physical practice. Muscular and skeletal tension is consciously relaxed in this pose. Regardless of length and frequency, we can all agree that Savasana is an essential part of every yoga practice."

Let's translate that into Astro-LOA terms.

The dark moon is a time to reap all the benefits of the month's focus and we can all agree that relaxing on the Dark Moon is an essential part of every deliberate creation practice.

And for those who want to follow my teacher - Yoga with Adriene -  in a savasana practice, here she is, taking us step by step through the corpse pose.

It's our chance to consciKimFalconer_fullously float downstream, restore and rejuvenate, and of course, fills the tanks.

I'd love to hear your suggestions for chilling out on the Dark Moon.

See you in the comments.

Eclipse Season January 2019 Times

15°  Capricorn is the hot spot for the partial Solar eclipse on January 5th. Remember, this is where you initiate something new, be it a thought, goal or intention.Screen Shot 2019-01-01 at 10.39.32 am

The Partial Solar Eclipse January 5th/6th

Let's look a little closer at the January 5th eclipse. Notice right away there is a strong focus in Capricorn. No less than five planets and the South Lunar Node occupy that sign. Zeroing in, it also becomes clear that Saturn and Pluto are conjunct the eclipse, bringing with them their own particular brand 0f energies. Saturn wants to make it 'real' and Pluto wants to infuse it with power. So, whatever you are intending on this New Moon Eclipse, it wants to be deep, meaningful and have weight. Consequence. Go for a powerful desire this time round.

The Lunar Eclipse January 20th/21st

The second eclipse in January is the lunar or full moon eclipse where we lean toward letting go. Releasing and allowing. This full moon is, of course, conjunct the Lunar Node (as that's what makes it an eclipse).  It is also conjunct Mercury, messenger of the gods and Pluto, lord of transformation. It's possible that what you let go of now, a toleration, belief, habit, will have potent, far reaching results. Check the video if you aren't sure 'where' to find this event in your own chart. You'll be looking for the opposite houses that contain 1° Leo and 1° Aquarius.

The glyphs look like this:

The main thing to remember as you pre-pave this energy for 2019 is that we initiate on the solar eclipse and release on the Lunar. Mars 2019 into Aries

Fireworks
Fireworks by Nikolay Dimitrov - Mars 2019

Mars 2019 moves into Aries, zing on the New year! This is the sign that represents the beginning of any manifestation. It's where we jump into activity, initiate and assert ourselves and interACT in the world of appearances. Here are the times below.

Mars 2019
Mars 2019 through the sign of Aries

Check out the quick Youtube Tutorial on the Transits of Mars using Mars transiting Libra as an example. You can also go to Mars and Empowerment for more insights, along with a recording on the topic.
Mars is energy, heat, molecular motion, and without Mars, we would not be able to move forward. When this planet is in his natural placement of Aries, the dynamic of LIFE hits overdrive! Buckle up, everybody because things are ready to jettison! This is never more strongly felt than when Mars crosses the 0 degree Aries point, the beginning of the 30 degrees of Aries in the zodiac.

Mars 2019 Over the Aries Point

The Aries Point is found where you see zero degrees of the Cardinal sign of Aries (it's also 0 Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, but more on that later). Everyone's chart has the Aries Point at exactly the same zero degrees, yet each chart will be unique as far as WHERE, or what house, zero Aries falls in. Find where 0 Aries is in your chart, and where Mars will be transiting for the next forty-four days, and you know where you want to amp up, jump in, stake your claim and stand tall! You go large here, and you vibe strong, enthused and confident!

Here are Jeannette's tips for How to Set a New Year Intention.

Finding Transiting Mars 2019 in your Chart

1) Create your chart online

2) Find your Ascendant and any other point in the chart

3) Look for the Aries glyph and remember the signs run counter-clockwise around the chart. In the case of the example chart below, 24 Aries rules (sits on) the 8th house cusp, so we go back 24 degrees into the 7th house to find 0 Aries (24 - 24 = 0)

Where you find 0 Aries, you want to take positive action from within. Amp up your physical and mental activities, be the boss, lead the way and nurture (respect & express) your inner warrior. For the example chart, this would probably mean facing 'open enemies' or taking over direction in a partnership, learning how to be 'together' without losing her identity. This year she could set strong new intentions in the realm of personal, one-to-one relationships.

More on the AP and Mars 2019

The cool thing about the 0 degree Aries Point (AP) is that it's a place where we catch the eye of the public. So, having Mars transit there puts a focus on our PR, how others see us, how we are thought of and remembered.

Mars brings our assertive, directing and action oriented qualities out into the open, by house. Where we grab the attention of society. We are seen as commanding, raw and imposing, when in the Aries expression. Think, the famous warrior, leader, director, explorer, trailblazer.

Where is Mars in Aries transiting in your chart these next forty-four days? Can you think of ways to boost your energy there? What 'feeds' you in this area of life? Go to that house, and stir it up! Here are the houses at a glance.

Pre-Pave with Astrology 2019 - Madart Painting by Megan Duncanson

The New Year is nigh, the perfect time to Pre-Pave your desires with Astrology 2019. It all starts with awareness, so let's begin.

How to Pre-Pave with Astrology 2019

Pre-paving, simply put, happens when we see (and feel) things going a certain way before they occur. We do it all the time, consciously or unconsciously, like before we open the bills, head to the dentist, apply for a job or pitch a new project. Think of it as your 'set-up' and expectations before starting something new.

There are usually two ways to pre-pave. One is unconscious and often contains fear and dread, as in: "Oh no. This is going to cost a fortune!" The other is conscious and purposefully creative/positive, as in: "I can make this payment with plenty of change to spare."

Whichever mindset, the thought will pave the path, no exceptions. Here are some detailed examples from Jeannette on How to Pre-Pave for Manifesting Success.

Now, the question is, how to leverage the Astrology 2019 for the best year ever? Let's look at some of the key astrological events coming up and see where they fit into your chart. There will be more posts, calls and discussions on the GVA Forum, but the first one is scheduled for December 18th/19th. Details & Discussion Here! All are welcome.

Astrology 2019 Eclipses

Think of an eclipse as a super potent new or full moon. To occur, they must be in alignment with the North and South Lunar nodes, meaning the universe is lining up events that put you on your Path. Eclipses break up logjams, situations that are stagnate an no longer serving our greatest expansion. They are often a wild ride, bring life to a crises point of some kind. They come at peak times of change, decision making and crossroads, bearing messages from the gods. Intuition is heightened, along with instincts and the ability to act. We might see the end of an era on some level and the beginning of a whole new way of being.

Know that eclipses always come in pairs with a new moon or solar eclipse initiating something fresh and innovative. Following that, there is the corresponding full moon or lunar eclipse where we let go of the old ways of thinking.

For now, it's enough to note what houses are involved. They show you WHERE change is happening so you can pre-pave what thrills you the most. As the year unfolds, we'll be doing calls on the eclipses to help you get into alignment with what you want. Check back here for more info on each one.

Astrology 2019 Retrogrades

To understand retrograde cycles, check out the GVA Tutorial at Youtube - Retrograde Planets of Mercury and Beyond.

More on this as they unfold. Jupiter will retrograde once and the outer planets, from Saturn to Pluto, will all have their Rx times. Check the details, degrees and shadow zones here. We'll be discussing these on the Forum and GVA Calls in 2019.
