Ready for the Solar Eclipse Scopes?

It’s the Dark Moon now until December 25th/26th when the last Eclipse of 2019 rises. Think of this as wrapping up the previous year and setting you up for months to come in 2020.

So, take a moment to reflect on the power and energy about to shift with the final lunar event of 2019. Remember, dark moons are for rest, recuperation, meditation and quietude. Find a place, inner and outer, that represents peace to you and go there.

Yes, even at this insanely busy time of year.

Especially at this insanely busy time of year!

Solar Eclipse Scopes - Exact Times

New Moon ECLIPSE 04°Capricorn 06′

NY – Dec 26th - 12:13 am
Lon – Dec 26th - 5:13 am
Syd – Dec 26th - 4:13 pm

New Moons are perfect for setting intentions, pre-paving desires and focusing our energy on what we want, but often we’re too busy to get in touch with how we really feel. As the dark moon deepens, we can look back over 2019, asking what came to be. What could use some tweaking? Is there any deadwood or tolerations to prune (or find a different way to think about?)

Aligning with the current Astro can help you find the answers now, before the Solar Eclipse, and turn that knowledge into powerful transformations.

Aspects Highlighted in the Solar Eclipse Scopes

1) Solar Eclipse trine Uranus Rx – think 'happy surprise.' Uranus brings sudden and unexpected news or events and this one just might take your breath away.

2) Nodes conjunct/opposition the Capricorn New Moon – This is what makes it an eclipse, the alignment with the ecliptic, represented by the Lunar Nodes. All New Moons bring a fresh start, but with the nodes? It's THREE times the power and punch. Best make your intentions three times the strength to match.

3) Solar Eclipse conjunct Jupiter – talk about expansion. Jupiter brings 'luck' the natural vibe that comes with confidence and optimism. Pay attention to these feelings. They are with you for the next six months!

4) Asteroid 19 Fortuna conjunct the Solar Eclipse and Jupiter exact. Like drawing the Wheel of Fortune card in Tarot, this can mark a turning point, inner our outer, where you see things from a new perspective. Events could conspire to open your eyes and move you further along the Path of fortune! More on Asteroids...

SagittariusSAGITTARIUS:

The Solar Eclipse in Capricorn can make it easy to get distracted with pragmatic concerns. This isn’t ‘bad’ though if you look deeper at your ‘resources’ you’ll see your true wealth is in your core values. Know them. Live them. And, sort your finances, make a plan, and expect major abundance in 2020.

CapricornCAPRICORN:

This is your personal New Moon so take a moment to reflect on how your life is progressing. What have you accomplished in 2019? What goals do you want to set in 2020? Care to raise your sights a little higher? A lot? The sky truly is the limit, so start blasting through those set-points now!

AquariusAQUARIUS:

Your have the Solar Eclipse in the land of dreams and the unconscious mind. It’s about letting go and allowing what you want as opposed to trying to force things to ‘make them happen’. The more you relax, let go of control and allow your intuition to guide you, the better. No resistance in 2020!

piscesPISCES:

The Capricorn Solar Eclipse lights up your house of friends and like-minded others. You are opening to new connections and also, perhaps, some friends are starting to drift away. Just go with the ebb and flow, releasing the urge to grasp and cling. 2020 brings leadership roles. Be ready!

Have a wonderful Solar Eclipse and Season's Celebration!

Dark Moon Savasana

Rafal_Olbinski_Moon - Dark Moon
Bird with the Moon by Rafal Olbinski

If you've been studying astrology for a while, or following the Daily Astro-LOA Flash, you'll know that the Dark Moon is a time to release tension and chillax. No matter what sign or what time of year, the two days before every New Moon is the time to unwind. With a restorative vibe, you can reflect on the past 27 days, and prepare for the power and energy about to shift. And it does shift.

Dark Moon in AquariusWhat Exactly is the Dark Moon?

First of all, the Dark Moon is in play for about two days prior to the New Moon, or when it is 30° degrees 'behind'. You can't see it at that time. It's too close to the sun.

Think of it as the culmination of a whole 28 day cycle. In this way, the Moon goes through the entire zodiac, waxing and waning, making every aspect to every planet and point in the chart.

At the end, in the Dark Moon Phases, the moon applies to a conjunction to the sun which marks the New Moon and the beginning of the cycle all over again.

The Power of the Lunar Cycle

Don't underestimate the power of aligning with the moon as it travels through the zodiac. Whole calendars are devoted to this but the gist is: planting seeds and setting intentions on the New and waxing moon. Releasing resistance and pulling weeds on the Full and waning moon, and restoring/resting/de-cluttering on the Dark Moon.

For more details on the transits of the Moon, check out this short Youtube Tutorial - Transits of the Moon.

New Moon in Aquarius

Your Sign, the Moon

In our time of solar/patriarchy, it might surprise you to know of the moon's elevation in the past. Many ancient astrologers regarded the Moon as the chief of the two luminaries. The sun was considered less significant to the Babylonian stargazers, for example. And later, in Roman times, people were not known by their sun signs but by their Moon, or even Ascendant sign.

Why Rest on the Dark Moon?

Dark Moons are definitely for rest. Think recuperation, meditation and quietude with a little retreat and de-cluttering thrown in. Also, it's good to fill the tanks at this time.

Joss Whedon says, "Fill the tanks!" Between projects, he recommends constantly consuming art, and he means art you don't normally watch or read - shows, films, plays, art exhibitions, concerts, poetry readings, novels... The goal is to step outside the normal, everyday routine/genres. "It’s all fodder," he says and this approach applies beautifully to Dark Moon times.

See Dark Moon as Savasana

I like to think of the Dark Moon as Savasana, pronounced shah-VAHS-uh-nuh. If you've taken a yoga class, you'll know it as that last pose at the end of the session. The pose of the corpse. It's easy, right? You just lay there.

But no.

It's actually not only the most important pose of the practice, it's also the most challenging because you have to relax.

Sort of like 'allowing' or floating downstream.

Here's a defination from DoYouYoga:

"...Savasana is the time to reap all the benefits of the physical practice. Muscular and skeletal tension is consciously relaxed in this pose. Regardless of length and frequency, we can all agree that Savasana is an essential part of every yoga practice."

Let's translate that into Astro-LOA terms.

The dark moon is a time to reap all the benefits of the month's focus and we can all agree that relaxing on the Dark Moon is an essential part of every deliberate creation practice.

And for those who want to follow my teacher - Yoga with Adriene -  in a savasana practice, here she is, taking us step by step through the corpse pose.

It's our chance to consciKimFalconer_fullously float downstream, restore and rejuvenate, and of course, fills the tanks.

I'd love to hear your suggestions for chilling out on the Dark Moon.

See you in the comments.
